Pike Bay is part of three fantastic tourism regions in Ontario. It's part of the great Bruce Peninsula leading to the most southern part of Georgian Bay and near to Lake Simcoe. It's surrounded by lovely small towns and has 12 small lakes close by. Pike Bay is famous for "The Rocks" which are part of the Whiskey Harbour Recreation Association. Visitors and residents alike are privy to watching some of the best sunsets in the world after enjoying a day of activities in the area.
The Bruce Peninsula offers residents and visitors to Pike Bay the unique opportunity to enjoy all four seasons. No matter what time of the year you come to Pike Bay, there is always something for the outdoor enthusiast. Summers at Pike Bay are all about water and recreation and it comes in ample supply. Some of the best fishing spots in all of Ontario are in the Pike Bay area. This once small hunting area has turned into a "Four Season" destination. The area is home to cottages, B&B's, hunting and fishing lodges as well as full time residents.
The spectacular fall colors make the area the perfect spot for hiking and exploring the wildlife and fauna of the area. Winter brings a host of activities for those who love to snowmobile, ski or participate in cross country skiing. Spring is a special time in the area when everything comes to life again and those who enjoyed the fall hikes are often found here watching it all return again for another season. This area is commonly known as a "Four Season Area."
The residents of this area consider themselves to be extremely lucky to live in an area with such variety, and yet still be close to larger nearby cities. The Pike Bay Community Park is an example of community coming together. The Pike Bay Community Association works hard to maintain the beauty of the park while still providing other events for the community to enjoy throughout the year. The annual Pike Bay Pig Roast is something that everyone looks forward to.
The temporary residents of this area, the cottage owners, come to Pike Bay to get away from it all. The area is peaceful and provides that back to nature feeling that many city dwellers crave. Cottage country here is often a year round event and city dwellers can be found hiking the trails nearby to cross country skiing in the winter. The cottage residents in this area are made to feel like they are part of the community, no matter when they arrive. Pike Bay is truly one of those small communities where everyone is a friend.
